Beginnings of an (I hope) SSB direct conversion receiver for the 2M band. This is just the VFO. And I鈥檓 very much learning here.

It uses an SI5351 with two signals 90 degrees out of phase. Controlled by a Pi Pico. While the code works, I鈥檒l need to make it more efficient to handle the other duties that I plan for the Pico. This is my first Pico project, too. I鈥檓 using the Arduino IDE. #HamRadio #AmateurRadio

That soldering on the Pi Pico is nasty, and it came like that from Aliexpress. Will use a real Pico in the radio.

I have a tinySA on the way, and will post the actual output when I get that.

The rotary encoder button switches the frequency step. It鈥檚 displayed at the button of the screen but the phone camera didn鈥檛 capture it.

I confirmed this morning with an AM radio that a signal is being generated. Whether or not it鈥檚 right will require instrumenting with the tinySA (I don鈥檛 have an oscilloscope).

I had a better idea and hooked up my old RTL-SDR dongle to GQRX and can see it on the waterfall. In AM mode it detects the carrier. There is a 2khz difference between the signal and what GQRX expects. My guess is the si5351 is right and the RTL is wrong. Or both.

Obviously the frequency changes when I adjust the VFO.
