@lauren Good? The rest of Google is circling the drain with greater frequency. Search is salted earth, Maps is now an exercise in mobile infuriation ... Drive is still half-decent, but it could go at any moment. Mail is the only thing I still use intentionally that doesn't completely suck, and if it stops being a Google product, it might not completely enshittify.
@mrsrld It will increasingly be a distraction from their "AI Is Everything" mantra. But it will take time. Maintaining legacy systems is not considered "career ladder" enhancing at Google, and while they are indeed trying to stuff AI down Gmail users' throats, it eventually will be something they'll want to dump -- or might even be forced to by antitrust actions.
