Announcing BSSG 0.32.0: Asset Pre-Compression, New Themes, and Performance Boosts
Whoa!! You very quietly fixed my problem with footnotes!! I just now felt inspired to run my test file through BSSG and the footnote markdown now works. Thank you!! I'll have to start footnoting things now.
Okay, I'm realizing that this may have more to do with changes at my end.
1. Recently I had to reinstall my Linux OS on a new partition. So I have a fresh install. I also had to install cmark and pandoc on the system.
2. I had changed my config.sh.local to indicate using commonmark instead of pandoc back when I was trying to track down this footnote problem. With the upgrade of BSSG I made some changes to that config file and saw the "commonmark" changing it back to "pandoc."
3. I just now tried commonmark again and the markdown footmark notation was not changed properly. Putting it back to pandoc made it right again.
So using pandoc did not work with my old system and the old BSSG code, but either the new system or the new BSSG code has made it so that pandoc, but not commonmark, now parses the footnote markdown properly.
Okay, so not "my hero." But, better yet, an honest man. 🙂
Scared what 1.0 might bring! @stefano
I don't know if the web server my site is on serves pre-compressed assets, but I'm ready if and when they do. My site is tiny, but I love the idea of having this available. I'd never heard of it.
I love the new "thoughtful" theme. I'll see if I can wreck it by trying to add a dark mode. As it is the colors are pleasant to the eye--exactly what I would like to read with.
