Okay, so after a lot of tinkering and messing around, I managed to get a 3D model generated with #MakeHuman to animate with the free animation assets from Mixamo. Still a lot to figure out, and some aspects of this character look pretty goofy, but I might be able to get this guy as the player character in #Godot soon!

For those curious about how to do this, this guide from the MakeHuman project is super super useful. Took some trial and error, and there’s some limitations on what you can do.

TL;DR: export a simplified version of your model with no clothes, upload to Mixamo, download the resulting animation, use the helper to snap your model to the imported bones of the FBX file you pull in.
