That they used those lines really irked me.
I had to take a break after the first few episodes before being able to finish it. They do get around to making the point that any slavery is bad but only after several more obvious miscommunications and still includes problematic bits.
IMO, Takumi seems like a kind of Gary Sue (i.e., Mary Sue).
"Gary Sue" is an interesting term. That connotation describes most harem-adjacent anime, and there's a lot of them. I was thinking of them as junk food in anime form.

Not really; it ties up the thread involving the "Heroes" with a brief eventual encountered but there's almost no challenge to the MC. Instead he gets more freebies thrown at him "thanks to the goddess' blessing".
