I've been playing around with Meshtastic. I live in a very hilly area, so it's very challenging to get any type of range. The antennas need to be very high up on a hill and powerful.

I've taken a radio with me "into town" and I immediately get many nodes. But that does me no good out in the boonies.

Also - it feels like Discord without moderation options. I can't block anyone. Icky.

#Meshtastic

@oscillator That blocks the entire node. When you are node-plentiful that's not a problem. But out here, if I block an entire node, I might be cutting myself off completely as there are just 2-3 nodes total I can see (on a good day).

Right now I don't see a way of saying "block user X on any node they appear on", only "block every message coming from node Y"

@box464 @oscillator

Meshtastic cant do this: block all messages whuch comes from a specific node.

Because the protocol header doesnt even have bytes reserved for the macadress of the repeater.

So every repeated message is send out with the original sender adress id.

So blocking options are limited to the original source, the repeater cant be blocked.

If you have control over the repeater, channels can reduced to known ones too.
