the fact that Devuan tweeted support of #Xlibre makes me never want to suggest this distro ever again.

and the fact that Artix already excitedly made an experimental ISO with Xlibre means I'm going to have to put BSD back on my laptop, if not Alpine. jfc. blobcoffeeunamused

@theruran I'm quite happy with OpenBSD. Given their stance on security, I'm confident that they have none of the binary blobs, etc. in their default install. If they can't audit the source, it doesn't go in the base.

@theruran If you鈥檙e trying a systemd free distro, try MX Linux.

@theruran OpenBSD has been working great for daily use for me these days. NetBSD is also delightful (I need to get back to hacking on it). FreeBSD is, as ever, the best supported.

However, if you do need Linux and were considering Alpine and BSD, you should take a look at @chimera It's my go-to Linux now (musl, dinit, FreeBSD userland, apk, rolling release). They are definitely not on board with xlibre and related horseshit.

@theruran Not surprising to me, considering Devuan and Xlibre both come from the same conservative position

@theruran let them play with dead tech, that way they don't pollute the communities of modern free software.

@theruran Uuugh, time to get off that boat then. Doesn't look too good on their mailing list either.
