Every billionaire is proof our system is broken. As hospitals struggle and schools face cuts, a tiny elite hoard unimaginable wealth. Taxing the super-rich isn’t radical - it’s common sense. Billionaires are not a sign of success but policy failure. As greens we have been calling for a wealth tax since 2017. Since then inequality has widened. Let’s tax wealth, invest in people, and build a fairer society for everyone.

A Green Party Northern Ireland graphic with the headline “FUND PUBLIC SERVICES, TAX THE SUPER-RICH” and the subheading “Every billionaire is a policy failure.” The background shows people in luxury surroundings holding champagne glasses. A white text box with the Oxfam logo contains statistics: “The wealth of the world’s 3,000 billionaires has surged by $6.5tn (£4.8tn) in real terms over the past decade, according to Oxfam, equivalent to 14.6% of global output. In total the richest 1% of the global population has gained at least $33.9tn in real terms, which the charity said was ‘enough to end annual global poverty 22 times over’.” The Green Party logo and website appear at the bottom.
