It's actually so widespread and mainstream, it's going all the way up to the government and trump's top advisors and all the politicians. So it's not a minority opinion but a massive fascist shift that is becoming fully normalized. Yes, difficult because so much language that perfectly describes things happening in modern fascism comes from the most famous WWII example. For good reason but it makes it hard to talk about without people dismissing it. Gestapo, SS, concentration camp, etc. But I think personally we have to get over that because the very lesson of that period is how it was both absolutely horrifying and also unremarkable, because it only exposes something always there in our social/political systems.

I say this with full knowledge of how alarmist it sounds but I think the question to ask is this:
Knowing what you know about everything that happened after, what would you do if you were in Germany in 1933?
Do that, whatever it is.
Some can and will fight, others will need to leave. As the scholar of fascism said the lesson of 1933 is "get out sooner rather than later."
Also there is nowhere you can move to avoid the policies of the USA gov’t. IMO it makes more sense to stay in the imperial core and cause problems, especially when the rise of fascism is evidence we’re closer to winning than ever—fascism is capitalism in decay.

"Remigration" is ethnic cleansing. Eliminationist economics at work. "Aryanization": a Nazi euphemism for systematically taking property from persecuted groups. It started as "voluntary" due to economic coercion, later became theft backed by violence.

Economic pressure creates this kind of "voluntary" asset liquidation. Migrants facing ICE raids are forced to sell cars and other things quickly at below market prices so they can flee or prepare for detention. They're not choosing to sell. They're being forced by state violence.
This happened in Germany but it also happened in the United States during WWII. Japanese Americans were sent to the concentration camps and their homes, businesses, and farms were taken and often never returned.
(Little Tokyo briefly became a Black neighborhood during the war when people migrated West from the South. Including the rest of my family.)

Just saw what happened last night on Crenshaw & Hyde Park near where we used to live. LAPD raided a public vigil for someone who was killed in yet another drive-by shooting. All hell broke loose.
I moved away in 2004. My brother moved in with me here in Albuquerque at the end of 2019.
We haven't forgotten 1992 either.
When this happens the population who aren't being targeted by ICE benefits from the sales. Americans can now buy trucks at a low price because of ICE. This creates a situation where people have an economic stake in the persecution. Just like Germans who bought Jewish businesses.
I would avoid minimizing what's happening - the desire to frame Trump as incompetent is understandable but the list of what he's doing is quite clear and is very dangerous.

Two funny-peculiar things about these posts by “Nathan Halberstadt” are his German surname (therefore we presume some part of his origin is/was German; “Halberstadt” = “half city” literally, perhaps mid city or downtown) & lack of shame or any sense of history or irony. Good people were taking what they could to keep it safe in case the people came back, or if their neighbors family showed up to salvage important stuff. One guy was trying to get people to help keep his neighbor’s truck from being towed away until the family could pick it up.
