Let's be clear about what #Google has been doing. They've been switching #Android users' phones from the legacy Assistant to #Gemini, even though Gemini cannot properly execute many of the directives that legacy Assistant can perform. This means that Google is KNOWINGLY breaking users' home and other action routines. In fact, the fine print actually notes that Gemini can't do everything legacy Assistant can do, and Google still switched users' phones over anyway. I had to go digging all over to find the setting to turn off goddamned Gemini for Assistant functions -- it had been switched to Gemini even though the Gemini app per se was not installed! This should be ILLEGAL.

@lauren I just have all of it disabled entirely, including Google app which kills the rest of their shit. Google treats privacy so criminally poorly there is no way I'm gonna allow their assistant fester on my info and actions. I rather do shit myeelf pressing buttons manually than having "assistant" do it for me. However I see how it can be useful for people with disabilities and for them this change suuucks.
@lauren there is always need in a society for people to go ahead and break the spell, make it useful for all, show magic as only technic

e os is a breeze, no techie stuff, i know nothing about it, bought pre installed, same feeling as apple or google android

its not expensive, i believe strongly in it and would be highly interested in your point of view as analyst and user

i use it since 4 years, no problems at all

and its privacy pure but you can give it up if you decide for whatsapp or tinder

i try to talk to one person at a time, have met lots, most beating expectations in most unexpected ways

@lauren
I can only suggest lineageOS to everyone. It is insanely superior in terms of freedom and privacy.

That said, this should not be necessary but here we are. Our timeline is shit. Legal doesnt mean right anymore and we need to do something about it but that will take time. Until then, lineageOS keeps you off billionaire radars.

PSA: There are other options but imo this is the most daily driveable solution yet.
