Perhaps because each name brings with it certain highly-emotional associations —good, bad, and cringey— for different voting demographics who are more-or-less evenly distributed among the respondents of clown fan polls?
That, or it’s just the magic of the fediverse, and I really just need to go to sleep already and check the results in the morning.
