Good morning Fedi friends!

Now that my Fedi promo video is out and I'm no longer spending 7 hours a day doing motion graphics, I have time to pick up again writing for the blog #TheFutureIsFederated.

@_elena It's maybe been covered before, but how do we make fedi more... accessible?

Most of the people I knew from twitter went to bsky. Things (women in a large degree) they said about fedi was: difficult onboarding, cleaner/better interfaces, policing from not using TW on just about everything, too many techbros, fear of instances just shutting down, being at the mercy of a private person.

@_elena I've been told about https://hardcover.app/, it's not federated but I hope it may one day be. It'll be interesting to contrast bookwyrm with hardcover as alternatives to goodread.

I made a completely new (anonymous) account as I didn't want to disclose me and my library .. Sure I could set everything on private, but then I don't really see the point of using it.
