Last of the Aotearoa / New Zealand timeline cleansers from my trip in January 2025 with partner and young adult children.

This is a waterfall in Milford Sound. This boat trip was one of the absolute best things we did. There were fat seals sunbaking on rocks, beautiful mountains, and amazing waterfalls. Even the drive from Te Anau to Milford Sound was spectacular.

And finally, the darkest night sky imaginable at Lake Tekapo. Going out and looking up in the middle of the night, in the crisp cool air, was so amazingly head-clearing. It’s soothing to think about how long those stars have been there, and how much longer they will continue to be there, no matter what happens down here on this planet.
