Almost all of the commercial social media sites use some variation of the infinite scroll. Ever notice how you pick up your phone and 15 minutes later you're still scrolling? Infinite scroll is a user interface pattern employed to keep you engaged and scrolling out of FOMO, while rewarding you with little dopamine hits from amusing, interesting, or engraging content.

Making a change is hard, and that's by design:

Have you thought about how much time you might reclaim every day, or maybe every week if you didn't fall into these scroll-holes? You could enjoy a book, start a new hobby, compose personal messages to your friends or family, or enrich your life in some other equally important way.

How we spend our precious free time is a choice.
