Just finished taking the lights, starting the darks. It's been a good night (I've slept a little bit though). The sky in the west is not dark anyone and Venus has risen.
First draft... 4 hours worth of capture.

Two other "renders" from last night data. Keeping only the 75% best frames (so 3 hours, ditching one full hour).
I find the darker one more pleasing but the more agressive one show that I've captured some of the faintest extensions of the nebula.
Same picture but with a more agressive treatment of the low lights, showing wider extension to the nebula. Some stars get ha halo too.
M27, Dumbbell nebula. Same as before but with a wider view, more stars around, some of them quite bright showing noticeable diffraction spikes in the form of a cross.
And as a making-of, all the 482 frames with a smol processing but before registration (alignment). The drift and jumps are caused by the motorized mount which is not perfectly following the target. And yes, each streak, and everything moving is a satellite (most of them Starlinks 馃拃 )

My biggest these days is a 6 inch f/5. The older I get, the smaller the telescopes get.
@stargazersmith it's a 200x1000mm so technically just bellow 8 inches 馃槄 . And yeah at home I have just a star tracker (it's my sister's scope, just borrowing it)

I had a homemade 8 inch DOB for many years. It's a sweet size, big enough to show a lot, yet still fairly portable.
