@DeadUnicorn @ttrpg Giant stacks of dice are *FUN* to roll! And there's an inherent tension as you pull out sixes or ones, or total up to see if you beat a target.

Tunnels & Trolls/Monsters! Monsters! is far more exciting when you add more dice to your weapons, or OMINOUS when a monster has a stack of dice.

A one-roll or no-roll mechanic has a flat chance to get a good result, and no tension just blip. Easy isn't the same as fun.
