I’ve used Asana for many years for my to do lists, for both personal stuff and big projects. The week’s priorities get transcribed to paper with glitter pens, naturally, but having a grand master list that is easily edited, and which syncs across devices, is a nice thing about the 21st century. (We do still have some of those.) I’m worried about Asana getting enshittified as I see more and more gestures toward “AI” or whatever, but I know that something new will arise in its place when it reaches its inevitable downfall
Asana: We've updated our privacy statement
me: cool, if I don't find a big red button that lets me turn off all the "AI" bullshit, I am switching to writing out my to do lists by hand.
Asana: I'm sorry, I just can't find anything in my help files with the word 'disable' in it
me: don't fucken test me
[~75% of one 'chance' given later:]
okay so I'm writing out all of my to do lists by hand…
(seriously if anyone knows of a robust to do list app that syncs across Mac and iPhone, allows me to drag and drop to sort, has deadlines and subtasks, is transparently anti-"AI", and isn't built by people who scream at Jews as a hobby, such suggestions would be welcomed. I already use Finch and My Home Routines for other stuff; I'm looking for a huge to do list basement, you know what I mean?)
