"Where have you been for the last 20 years?" - The question that changed everything. This isn't a BSDCan report, but a personal reflection on how impostor syndrome stole decades from me, and why it's never too late to find your community and live life fully.

Where Have You Been for the Last 20 Years? | MyNotes

A personal journey from 20 years of self-doubt to discovering the welcoming BSD community at BSDCan. Sometimes courage comes later in life.

@stefano Thanks Stefano. Extremely relatable, couldn't have said it better.
It's been 10 years since I experienced the warm bath that is the BSD community. Have lost the energy to attend the conferences for years now. Your story makes me reevaluate!

@brnrd @stefano Strange you say that you lost the energy to attend. I tend to have the opposite: going to conferences _gives_ me energy. It gives me new ideas and will to (re)start doing something.

@stefano Thank you for this post. It meant a lot to me.

I will attend BSDCan 2026. It will be my first time. I hope to meet you there on your second visit. 🙂
