I checked out the homepage of a leading national newspaper in the US to see if / how they would cover #NoKingsDay. Crickets for now (no surprises there).

Something else I noticed on the homepage: an article about Instagram. Not linking to it on purpose, but just wanted to say that the way mainstream newspapers cover social media it's as if the fediverse didn't even exist. That's my biggest pet peeve.

I'll be emailing the reporter about #Pixelfed. Not sure what else I can do - suggestions?

@_elena Absolutely ask. You'd be surprised how many folks have heard of one piece or another about the Fediverse. Putting those bugs in their ears are important. And by the next meltdown of big social, or when they're tired of it, or as the Fediverse continues to evolved, they'll have already heard of it. :-)

@_elena Maybe we could create a resource somewhere (in a Lemmy community or something?), where we share some strategies for telling friends/companies about the Fediverse. Drafts for emails, the best websites or videos to link...
