The album kicked off with some nice synth arpeggios ("Mystical Plosives") before going into a classic Laetitia song, with organ/harpsichord-like keys and a motorik beat ("Aerial Troubles") #InstantHologramsOnMetalFilm #Stereolab
Track 3 ("Melodie Is a Wound") and we're firmly in Sound-Dust/Dots & Loops territory (synth arpeggios notwithstanding).
This track is so far a highlight: it's got the groovy melodies and Laetitia singing about the depredations of capitalism or similar. It's like they never left.
