To add insult to injury, they implied he had a range of places to seek asylum, and chose Russia as his best option;

"Mr. Snowden hurt his own credibility as an avatar of freedom by accepting asylum from Russia's Vladi­mir Putin, who's not known for pardoning those who blow the whistle on him."

This completely trivialises the situation he was in. After exposing US state-corporate collusion that was immoral, antidemocratic, and in some cases clearly illegal.

Not that I'm saying offering to spy on the people using their service for the CCP isn't shocking, it's just not surprising. It's standard operating procedure for FarceBook to spy on people for governments.

Mapping (offline) social networks used to be the bread and butter of spook agencies of all kinds. Now we do it for them, with the help of DataFarming social network platforms.
