From 7pm London time we travel back to late 1920s Japan with @stewf at @letterformarchive as he takes you deeper into the 24 volumes of The Complete Commercial Artist.

The periodical, and the archive's new book (https://letterformarchive.org/shop/complete-commercial-artist), were the topic of Stephen's regular BLAG column: Inside Letterform Archive.

Stephen's is one of 12 sessions running across five hours of BLAG Meet: Inside Issue 06. Learn more, and book for free at https://bl.ag/meet.

Illustration of a projecting cabinet sign that incorporated Japanese scripts with the word "Radio" that dominates and provides the sign with its shape: the large R extends the left portion of the sign upwards instead of being rectangular, while the O is formed into a speaker from an old radio with the tube extending downwards, taking the shape of the sign with it.

People always enjoy taking a look around others' work spaces, and for this BLAG Meet (https://bl.ag/meet) we'll get a peek behind the doors of Jay Smith's studio/workshop in Idaho.

This will include a browse through some of the classic sign painting books that he was lucky to get his hands on recently, as reported here: https://bl.ag/bookish-good-luck-at-mclellan-signs-in-nampa-idaho/.

Man in room with artworks and a guitar hanging on the walls. He's looking to one side and sat in front of a table/desk that has a sign kit box on it that is lettered with "My signs don't cost, they pay".
