2 Feb. 1944 @JewishChron laconically reported on the origins of a crisis of as yet unrecognized proportions. In January, 68 Jewish soldiers of the #Polish Army-in-Exile in the UK left their units due to rampant #antisemitism & secured transfer to UK forces

The #Polish government ordered an inquiry into the problem, but b/c the questions were irreparably biased & conditions worsened, another 136 soldiers departed in February & secured transfer to UK forces.
In March UK and PL declared no more transfers would be permitted

In late March, unable to withstand the endemic #antisemitism in the Polish Army, a 3rd group of Jewish soldiers, defying the new orders, went to London seeking transfer to UK forces. On 30 March, Polish MPs & London Police arrested them & sent them back to Scotland for trial

On 5 April 1944, left independent MP (Maldon) Tom Driberg raised the issue of #antisemitism in the #Polish Army in the Uk House of Commons, sparking a controversy that would occupy Parliament & press for months.
Totally forgotten, this is the subject of my current research
