Fediversians. I just spent three weeks blogging EVERY SINGLE NIGHT to give you a COMPLETE list of instructions to RECLAIM YOUR DATA. Go dark, scatter your traces, stay secure, erase your data footprint. Accessible to all.

Just in time too. Data sovereignty and protection are no longer a luxury but a MUST.

Data traces are political traces. History teaches us that data by you and about you can and will be used against you and those you love.

For you, your neighbors, your families. #optout NOW, and help others to do so too.

Thanks for your work on this @cyberlyra.

(for anyone who missed it;

Also to @jackiemak22 for the boost. This will be of interest to a bunch of folks wanting to promote fire exits from corporate DataFarms, including @mediarevolution, Rebel Tech Alliance (@patrickleavy), and @wedistribute. I was going to tag the Tech Reclaimers too, but I see they've already boosted this : )

@jackiemak22, I'd like to introduce you to the good people of @mediarevolution and Rebel Tech Alliance (@patrickleavy) in the UK. As well as the Tech Reclaimers (@janet @ali @andy

Everyone, meet Jackie, who is part of a tech liberation group in Seattle, US, figuring out how to host various services for their community.

Jackie is there a shared @handle I can use for your group as a whole, or are you the best point of contact? Same question for Patrick and RTA, and the Reclaimers.

@cyberlyra

@strypey good work. This is the best handle for RTA.

@jackiemak22 good to meet you. We're always up for uniting with others looking to reduce big tech's power!

For a start we list a few hosting services that do fediverse stuff (and matrix and Nextcloud etc) on this page https://www.rebeltechalliance.org/webhosting.html

Cool, added to;

https://codeberg.org/fediverse/fediparty/wiki/Hosting-services-offering-managed-fediverse-servers

Is your list only managed services, where they set up and maintain your instance for you? Or does it also include hosting providers where you install and maintain it yourself? Might be good to have a list for each?

Had a look through the other lists. This is great work Patrick.

NextCloud could be added to that file sync list. We use that at hub.iridescent.nz. Along with OnlyOffice for online editing of the documents stored them, although we used to use Collabora Office, the online version of LibreOffice. Those could be added to your spreadsheet list.

Ooh and CryptPad as well, as another GoogleDocs replacement.

Our admin @lightweight's day job is Open Source Technologist at OERU, and his work blog is chock full of advice about self-hosting different kinds of online services.

If you're doing a list of chat apps, to replace WhatSapp etc, this is a bit out-of-date but it will get you started;
