This is my first map visualizing the metric I'm working for "Percent High Comfort Bikeshed". This visualizes in read all the places I'm allowed to bike within 10 minutes of my house, while the routes in white are the ones that can only be accessed using "high comfort" faciliites. It looks about right. There's no way to comfortably access the areas to the north bybike and there's this mall sprawl that makes another chunk inaccessible. 馃У

@mszll Here I compare the "% High-Comfort Bikeshed" of a mobile park and my own neighborhood. The value is a percentage between the sum of the length the street segments accessible in using any legal road vs only high-comfort facilities.

I'm still got some tuning to do. I need to include a buffer outside the city limits so that locations near the boundary aren't penalized and I should include or exclude service roads / alleys / driveways in both models.

This could be interesting to consider in combination with a metric like "Walk Potential" which measures the number of categories of "interesting destinations" nearby.

Consider a location that has a lot of interesting destinations nearby, yet their "Percent High Comfort Bikeshd" is low-- they can't reach comfortably reach most of those destinations-- that could be a good place to prioritize infrastructure improvement dollars, which is the kind of use-case for these metrics I have in mind.
