Most notably, these people's ideals are not only directly descended from 20th century eugenicists, but are even more radical than theirs. They don't only want to engineer "the best human" but want to create "the best" new species, and "best" being defined by them.

They don't even hide being eugenicists. Shame on MIT Tech review. I bet they would have had Nick Bostrom if we hadn't exposed him so much that even Oxford couldn't be associated with him anymore.

@Tathar @timnitGebru I'm cis and I wouldn't even call myself a transhumanist (I'm more of an immortalist) but yeah being able to make your body grow new parts you want would be cool af.

Another adjacent thought I had the other day: with enough progress in medicine/biology, smoking would no longer be bad for one's health because its consequences could be completely undone or prevented altogether.
