Today is World Cancer Day. And from everything I went through the last year I can only urge you to go to the doctor regularly for screening appointments. Cancer is on the rise but if you catch it early your chances of survival are rising too.

So it is #worldcancerday …Two thoughts:
1. Fuck cancer
2. Early detection is the best way to do 1.
Be well, get screened, don’t miss even one test, catch this bastard early….
🌼 This #WorldCancerDay, find out more about our #CancerResearch projects in our new health spotlight: https://europa.eu/!jDJHcX. We're developing better models for testing treatments, hunting for new ways to spot cancer, leveraging big data, investigating theranostics & more. #IHITransformingHealth

Apparently it’s #WorldCancerDay, so… hi 👋 I’m your poster child for why you should get screened - whatever your doctor says you’re due for, DO IT.
If I had gotten screened a little earlier, my cancer journey would have been done and dusted in a matter of weeks. If I had waited until I had symptoms, I’d be dead.
Everyone has a story about cancer.
A parent.
A friend.
A loved one.
In 2024 alone, there were 2.7 million new cancer cases diagnosed and 1.3 million cancer-related deaths.
This is why prevention, early detection, care, and research matter, and why we have invested €2.7 billion here.
Today, on World Cancer Day, we mark 5 years of Europe’s Beating Cancer Plan.
We are investing and working with hundreds of partners to build a healthier Europe. 🎗️

However uncomfortable screening can be, it's nothing compared to having cancer.
Please get screened.
