My late-planted Kūmara need shade. They’ve frazzled in the sun we’ve had the last couple days.
I kept the frame off of a poly greenhouse when it’s poly expired, and it’s come in useful… shade!
I didn’t plant out all of my Kūmara vibes so I can give things another go if these don’t make it in the next couple of days 🌱
The blackbird who comes down to see what I’m doing every time I’m in the garden. I call him “old mate”. He’s a little camera shy and has his back to me here
My shade construction in progress - frames made up over the plants, and then weed mat pinned over the top and weighed down with bricks. Finally I pierced the corners with one of the metal tacks, and looped string around the frame to hold them tight.
