"The short version is that YouTube used AI to 'enhance' the videos of Rick Beato and Rhett Shull. YouTube used an AI smoothing filter that made the videos look like they were AI generated, and didn’t tell Beato, Shull, or their viewers that they were doing it. They only admitted to it after the two made videos proving it happened, later claiming it was only a 'limited test'.”

@strypey @joshsjunkdrawer This is a really interesting article about just how awful YouTube has become.
I watch YouTube a lot and I've been getting more and more uncomfortable with it but it's where all the How To videos are which are helpful for my #VanConversion project.
If I do ever post videos of my own, which I have considered doing, I'll use an alternative platform.
Recently I've been watching YouTube How To videos on my laptop via an Albanian VPN and get no adverts. It makes the viewing experience so much nicer. I don't know what effect this has on monetisation for the video creators. Unfortunately, I'm still getting adds on my TV.
