Further to my point about #StarshipTroopers - that it isn't a "This is how fascists would make a movie" kind of movie ...
#Robocop hits the exact same notes. Notice the death in the boardroom and how none of the corporate big players care - there's just some traumatic screaming in the background.
It's not a fake movie made in the style of a fascist made movie, it's a genuine movie but it's set in a fascist universe.
Robocop doesn't resolve, or try to resolve, the fascism element. The story focuses on a revenge plot and that's it. Everything else is there, it's meaning can easily be ignored or missed (like the corporate meddling in the police force) but it's all there, a dark humour about how corporate influences are fascism.
The difference is, Robocop is a way better movie with better acting and a better story. Robocop has an interesting story that isn't just action.
