CD City.
As seen in my profile banner.
I was looking for something to do with a broken CD player and thought of making a diorama of sorts.
I imagined opening the player and a tiny city magically pops up.
I couldn't achive the magic or popping, but I did scratchbuild a city at the smallest scale I've worked at.

Rear view of the CD City model. Clouds are painted on the clear plastic and the outside is weathered.
More angles of the CD City.
Including the service station on the bypass (gotta build bypasses...), and a subway that makes use of the headphone and power ports with track and a train peeking out.

Rear view of the CD city. The clouds painted on the clear lid of the player were first painted in reverse; darker details first then working up to the lighter full shape of the cloud. And then on the inside, the clouds were painted as normal so that they are visible from both sides.

Close up views of parts of the CD City; a service station next to the bypass, complete with advertising billboard.
and a subway train peeking out of a port of the CD player.
