Is it wrong to show the truth of the lives we are trying to save? These are children we find standing in dirty water, trying to fish instead of going to school, barefoot, hungry, and forgotten. In many Ugandan communities, this is normal life. Some of us at EYN lived this pain ourselves. That is why we fight every day to provide food, free training, skills, and hope so communities can stand strong, sustainably, and break this cycle forever.

Near the pond, children stand quietly around dirty water, fishing not for play but for survival. Their small hands search for food where schoolbooks should be, their eyes carrying hunger instead of dreams. This is not a choice it is life forcing them to grow too fast. Until hope reaches them, the water remains their classroom and survival their daily lesson.

A young boy sits quietly on an anthill, watching the pond in silence as he waits for his friends to finish fishing. With empty hands and patient eyes, he carries the same hunger and hope knowing his turn to eat depends on what the water gives today.

After pulling their nets from the pond, the children gather closely, counting the tiny fish caught with tired hands and quiet hope. Each small fish means a meal, a chance to sleep without hunger. There is no celebration, only relief. In their eyes, you see both struggle and strength children forced to survive before they are allowed to dream
