recently read about a #devious workplace #revenge…instead of going on GlassDoor/Indeed/etc job-review sites and leaving *bad* ratings for their former employer, the disgruntled employee left *glowing* reviews that oversold how wonderful the compensation package was with relation to their meager responsibilities.
This resulted in a blowout of issues:
• current employees view their relative compensation as waaay below what others were receiving for the same work leading to attrition or increased requests for raises
• subsequent job-applicants think they're getting a horribly lowball offer compared to what past employees have gotten
• the employer has to start offering more compensation competitive due to expectations
