In related news, there are reports of Galapagos tortoises waiting for a finch to go under the shell and then suddenly contracting their legs, crushing the bird. Then they eat it. This behavior is discussed on page 216 of Turtles of the World (which I don't own), and authors are reporting on somebody else's observation, so I'm not sure whether it is true. #galapagos #tortoise #fincheshttps://www.google.com/books/edition/Turtles_of_the_World/AR3BDA3QJNUC?hl=en&gbpv=1&bsq=finches
