Ah ha ha no, I'll bet that was a schlep!
Definitely, the practical categories of "is it a portable or not?" have been discussed for decades.
I was, for a little while, seeking out ultralights that could be packed in a backpack for hiking. I had a plan pre-pandemic to visit the highlands of Scotland (staying in Fort William) and to book Outlandia for a poetry project. (Unfortunately, I think Outlandia is no longer a thing.) 馃槥
The requirements I sought of the smallest machines were that they needed to have crisp, sharp function and fairly robust construction, because I'm a pretty fast typer and traveling in a bag while walking can shake up their innards.
My favorite of all the ones that I have found is this little Consul. I have three of them now. They are easy to work on and stand up to long rounds of typing better than most ultralights I have tried (yes, even the Skyriter and the Hermes Rocket!).
