I鈥檓 sure y鈥檃ll are so curious to see what it looks like inside of the ripe orange bittermelon, right? 馃憖馃槀

Now you鈥檝e seen it! The seeds are encased in the bloody red gooey interior. Green ones don鈥檛 look remotely like this鈥擨鈥檒l take a pic next time I cut one.

Something came over to me to taste the red goo, and I did. To my utter surprise, it was sweet! Omg, a delicacy!! to me anyway yum 馃構 lol

Small vine-ripen orange bittermelon is sliced in half the long way to show the inside on the green cutting board. The fruit is orange like papaya, and the seeds are encased in the lustrous red jellylike pouches鈥攔esembling cherry preserve.

We got a very ripe bittermelon this evening! They turn orange right before the fruit explode like peeled banana. I got lucky that this small orange one was still intact. 馃馃А

Four bittermelons on the gray kitchen counter next to a green pairing knife for size. Two big ones are about the size of regular cucumbers, and the other two are half the size, but as plump. The skin of the bittermelons are warty and bumpy like toad鈥檚 back. The colors vary between light and dark greens, and sometimes orange.
