Spent 3 hrs 7 min in the uphill parts, feeling strong. 2 hrs 33 min in the downhills, slowing down quite severely in the second part of the race due to the left knee and doing fine in the flat sections for 1 hr 3 min on the road and another 1 hr 31 min on the trail. Nice mixture of surfaces and the fourth, smallest island felt actually quite big.
Wasn’t really hungry all those hours and wouldn’t have needed to carry all the food. The dried sausages were a nice contrast to all the sugar. 2/n
So overall a nice day out and about. Felt stronger than last year at the Meråker Mountain Challenge, kept going with the naughty knee (felt like Gollum on the last downhill section 😅) and saw some incredible nature. Good support along the trail with 8 aid stations serving drinks and food. At one I even got «Svele».
So lots of lessons learned. Can highly recommend to find your way to the start line, be it as hiker for on of the stretches or as runner for the full or half #fyrtilfyr. 3/3
