Only one hairdresser has cut my hair for the past twenty five years. Probably something that only happens in small communities.
Today while cutting my hair she went full racist and MAGA in a rant. Pretty much out of the blue.
I have been paying her double her rate to wear a mask while she cuts my hair. I mask, too.
It breaks my heart that she would approve of what our government is doing to people who deserve none of this hatred.
I tried to talk to her but she said we would have to agree to disagree.
So.
If you are one of our Mastodon friends in Humboldt County please feel free to suggest a hair stylist who isn't MAGA and who would be comfortable with me masking.
I hope I don't have to let my hair grow long again like I did during Covid.

If you ever drive to northern California on the 101 be sure to side quest down the Avenue of the Giants. It is a beautiful diversion.
Today, the Avenue was on our way to the river. Summer was deserving of some fun. The temperature was 73°F and the sky was blue. Hard to resist.
My husband's family has their own redwood grove on the avenue. I pointed the sign out to Summer, but her attention was already looking forward to jumping in the Eel River.
A worthwhile afternoon adventure.
