#OpenStreetMap tagging issue: #Naloxone opioid overdose reversal kits. There's currently no established way to tag these. And so I started a discussion on the `emergency=*` wiki page, as that seems to be the appropriate main tag to me. https://wiki.openstreetmap.org/wiki/Talk:Emergency_facilities_and_amenities

Feel free to chime in.

Today is International Overdose Awareness Day. 💜

These are Naloxone kits from every Canadian Province where I've had access to them: Ontario, Quebéc, and Nova Scotia.

Not every Province makes these accessible (PEI, for example) and they aren't available at all in some places in the world (the UK, for instance).

Just because these are accessible in some places now, doesn't mean they always will be. Naloxone is a life saving medicine, that until we have safe supply, we need to keep fighting for.

Five Naloxone kits stacked in a line on a black textured background. The first, from Toronto, is black with a red cross; the second two, from Montréal, are, respectively, black with a red cross and red with a white cross; the last two are from Halifax, the first is matte black with a grey cross and the last is a shiny textured black with a reflective grey cross. The Ontario kit comes with both nasal and injection. The other Provinces split their kits into either nasal or injection.

We have launched an online tool to help residents quickly locate free #naloxone, a life-saving medication that can reverse #opioid overdoses, including those caused by fentanyl. Preliminary data from 2024 show that more than 3,100 people in Washington state died from drug overdoses, with opioids involved in 79% of those cases.
