@everton137 A long while ago there was a local meetup. The people were nice. A few of us mete up other times.

After I moved, I saw an event being organized here and went to that.

One because xe commissioned me and it was faster and cheaper to just bring the thing myself than to ship it 😅 another because I was talking about my isolation and he invited me to a board game group. I hope to meet more people from fedi, so far I've only had good experiences with that!

@everton137 both existing friendships and new local people I met here, plus a couple of people from out of town who came to visit for an event. I've met a lot of online friends in person over the years, mostly traveling to do so. there are several friends I have here whom I would gladly visit if I was in their part of the world, and I am very open to getting to know more fedi locals.

The first was some years ago, but it should only count as 50% because it was more re-discovering a person i already knowed something 15 years ago

The second was only very recently, might be the beginning of a freindship

Other people in between, well i struggle for years to build a connection with them and might have already lost their good will

@everton137 I met several other Mastodon users for the first time at this year's Discworld Convention. Also, someone I met on here runs a shop on the Isle of Wight. I was on the Isle, so I popped in to say hello.
