AI needs to slow down because of the loss of people's jobs, replaced by enshittified, inadequate chatbots. And because of the extreme environmental damage caused by data centres: the destruction of farmland; the excessive water usage; complaints of constant noise and vibration; the increased costs of electricity for consumers; the greenhouse gas emissions when the data centres have on-site generators.
