However, as the devil's advocate I've also to add one more thing.
I'm prone to elaborate and deep think, this means I easily go beyond what others say. Not necessarily for good or bad, but even thoughts may become too political, or too polarizing, for persons living "comfortably numb".
Then there's the fact I don't use my mother tongue, and this complicates everything.

There's a continuous escape from reality, where any disagreement is seen as shocking.

@onepict More and more can't decipher the origins of politics, let alone geopolitics, and the level of ignorance - innocent or wanton - is multiplying in one of the worst stretches in human history, where more and more of our agency should be aimed at the #ClimateCRISIS.

Sad to say, that another mass extinction event, is well on its way.

@onepict I used to listen to that "Bob and Van" guy's podcast. And over time I started to notice he sounded a lot like many of the folks I used to deal with back when I freelanced for various "libertarian" outfits. There's a clear progression from complaining about perceived minor inconveniences to deciding that *you* are the real victim of persecution you need to defend yourself, possibly by storming a larged domed building.

@onepict we had a lot of this on the rave scene - men who were misogynists and predators were tolerated and even got power because they were providing resources such as vehicles and sound equipment, and on a subculture that was mostly funded by laundered partydrugs dealing money with a libetarian centrist attitude no-one understandably wants to deal with conventional authorities!

So it led to factions being formed, vigilanté actions and in some cases outright violence, which ofc gave the Police a good reason to get their teeth into clamping down on the whole scene (as understandably when blood gets spilled the "normie" authorities have to step in)
