"Nobody is as dumb as I appear to be" um... self-burn?
Real talk though, I'm starting to see why I related better to almost all of the kids in horror movies as a kid.
"No, don't eat that! It's spoiled!" - literally me several times a week though (one of my parents has anosmia and is bad at dates).
'Low in calories, good taste, and it doesn't even spot!'
Yeah, but *it moves on its own*.
What the fuck was food in the 80s?
"Well it's a dessert, not a prescription medicine..."
That... doesn't make any difference? I feel like the FDA would be like 'cool story, now give us the ingredients list'.
Great Danes always look so much smaller in films than they actually are.
Still, kind of funny that they had to use a puppet to get that to work. I wouldn't think it'd be that hard to get a Great Dane to let you put a bunch of whipped cream in its mouth. (Might take a few takes to get it to not eat it all though.)
Charlie has a point, but consider - a concussion might not be helpful with regards to anything. (People really used to be so cavalier about concussions.)
Reversed footage? Reversed footage.
I feel like you may not be so good at running if you didn't already have an escape route in mind.
So how long has The Stuff been on the market for that nobody's noticed people acting really weird and apparently disintegrating after 1 little boop?
I feel like even in a pre-Internet world people would notice that.
"Oh look, he's here."
This whole conversation is such a mood as someone who's ND and has some (not a lot, but when they're tripped they're tripped hard) sensory issues around food textures.
Though, I never got grounded or disowned for it at least (just yelled at a lot, and one time made to get my own food until my parents realised that doesn't work on someone who knows how to cook and has a casual job).
"Everyone has to eat shaving cream once in a while"
what
how are you... you know what nevermind I'm just going to assume that 'it's the 80s' is the answer.
Well, theres another use for The Stuff - construction! That burnt bit looks pretty sturdy anyway.
And kid picks literally the worst possible hiding place. Lucky that tank was empty too.
'No artificial ingredients' well, technically, I guess...
WHY WOULD YOU SET SOMEONE'S FACE ON FIRE TO HELP THEM NOT SUFFOCATE?!!!! THAT MAKES IT WORSE!!!! FFS, what even were the 80s?
Fun IMdB trivia - some of the effect shots used the same rigged room as A Nightmare on Elm Street used for its moving room effects.
I feel like you'd be having some issues with the breathing after a while inside the tank of a tanker truck, but IDK I've never had to look into the safety implications of it.
Oh good, at least her reasoning wasn't 'but that's illegal'.
Sneaking into places and crouching in the dirt in a white maxi dress, as you do.
I feel like we've already seen that fire only kind of repels it, though the Stuff caked on the outside of that building looked pretty charred. I feel like explosives are just going to spread it around too.
Salt? Or something that removes the water from it?
Oh good, the kid is at least kind of getting rescued.
Again, I feel like someone should have noticed that The Stuff seems to cause some, uh, issues with the body's structural integrity when it's hit at all. (Not that I think people generally do too well when run over by a tanker truck, but like...)
Well, at least the cops weren't that hard to get rid of, which balances out the everything else.
I no longer know what's going on beyond 'I hope these paramilitary guys are okay?'
Storming the factory, so apparently things worked out?
"What about 'Nam, sir?" Oof, but is she wrong.
I... don't think that's what they did. You know the Stuff can move on its own.
Why did you just get into a container to escape from a thing that seems to be behaving like a liquid? I feel like there was a quicker way to do that.
Yes, please do be aware of where you're pointing a gun, Guy Who Is Allegedly Good At Guns. Sheesh.
Wait did they get there in taxis? That they were paying for? Why is that absurdly funny to me.
