Good news: I've been selected for a fellowship at the Radcliffe Institute at Harvard, where I'm working on Academic Freedom & Connecting Across Difference.
This work isn't done alone, so there will be ways for people everywhere who care about rights/civil liberties to get involved (馃У/n)

The fires of the imagination need to be tended, not just protected. In Good Company will support communities to tell stories & make art about your own community's history of persistence despite threats to their rights.

Our collective faith in each others' creativity cannot be cultivated alone. Last weekend in-between apartment-hunting, I bicycled from Boston to Providence, imagining the journey taken by Roger Williams in the winter of 1636.
And I thought of the indigenous peoples who sheltered & protected him.
Williams was banished for advocating for indigenous land rights & religious freedom. His Wampanoag & Narragansett hosts sheltered him & helped him establish a city where rights were written into the code. We need more of that hospitality, courage, and creativity.
So as I look to next year, I'm so grateful to my colleagues at CAT Lab, Cornell, @knightcolumbia,
@transparenttech, and so many more for the encouragement and support that have put me in a position to make the Radcliffe Institute Fellowship a meaningful contribution on tech & rights <3
