The Fediverse is still a place where there isn’t a massive pull toward frivolous or trivial topics.

There are still many who shy away from the hustle and posturing of other networks.

Since it’s not as crowded, there’s no corporate interference, and there’s a diversity of federated instances, it’s also easier to build your own Fediverse with the people and topics that interest you. That’s why there’s better engagement and richer interaction here.

It’s paradoxical, given that there are far fewer people, but that’s how it is. I suppose we’re not ready for massive global interaction either, and we function better in less crowded environments.
