This post will be pinned: if someone follows me and has no significant bio and no public posts, I won't follow them back. I can't rely on pics because I'm blind, relying on posts only is meaningless as it could simply not be federated completely, but not having a bio (a significant one) with meaningful contacts, can be a symptom of fake or spam. This is not an era where you can BLINDLY trust anyone 🧑🦯
Not to forget that I could even BLOCK contacts. Being identifiable as a person is fundamental. Could even be a nickname, we are on Internet after all; but we must be responsible of our actions.

@elettrona Thank you for the reminder. I’ve been meaning to beef up my profile bio for a while now but haven’t gotten around to it. It will be kind of tricky to fit a bio in the rather limited character space given.

Public posts are dangerous now. Hubzilla allows a public profile, but all other content (including 'connections') to be private. Seems much safer.
