Only someone too young to remember SecondLife could have possibly thought the Metaverse was going to be something anyone wanted.

"Smartphones will take over" — 1990s man, probably holding a Newton or Palm Pilot

@thomasfuchs Today my boss told everyone in engineering that if they didn't get on the AI train it would be like the folks who didn't get on board with writing JavaScript for websites, or [half a dozen flawed analogies]. That they would get left behind and become unemployable because hiring managers would obviously choose people who can churn out code faster. And he didn't want anyone getting left behind so they need to get on board and start learning it.
