@thomasfuchs Forty years ago last month I got my first software development job.
So it's about forty years and 30 days since I first heard someone say "... and we won't need programmers any more".

@thomasfuchs My nephew works in tech and he's pulled this shit with me on crypto/blockchain and NFTs and every time I'm like, "Eh, I don't think so, guess we'll see." To his credit, he didn't bother reaching out to prophesize about AI to me 😂

Was also a way of younger people locked out of the real housing market to have some sort of property ownership. Not sure how having a metaverse island makes you less homeless.
