You can't fail a yearly theme, but I definitely feel this one struggled to find footing.

Not that this year wasn't full of small improvements; I've been running now for 1.5 years (slowed a little since the wet, but still going), my fitness has dramatically improved, I finished more art projects this year than in the last decade.

But I didn't really feel the pull of the theme, like it was fully aligned with the path I found myself on at the end of 2024.

Something to consider for theme 2026.

It has taken a fair bit of reflection and analysis, but I've finally constructed a 2026 theme that resonates:

"Making Headway - moving forward and making progress even, and especially, through rough conditions."

My health and fitness are on a decent track. This year I ran my first 5km in over a decade, and my first ever 10km and 11km and 12km. Once I was in a good place with running, I did some math, tweaked my diet ever so slightly and lost 15lbs. I feel I'm on a good course there and I'm going to continue it.

Work/research-wise I've been aimless, fidgety. Swimming around ideas. Left me feeling a little hollow; against a backdrop of *points to world* which has me questioning much.
