The website for the #ArgentineTango USA championship & festival says, regarding trying to ensure role balance in classes:

> That is why we are the only festival which offers an online pre-registration to classes.

What makes them think they're the only festival with class pre-reg? Conexion Queer Tango Festival in Miami has it. You can select lead, follow, or dual-role.

*eyeroll* and _of course_ the registration page for ATUSA festival attendees lacks a "both" option for role.

I guess if I ever want to hack the "oh no, 60% of registrations are from followers, and we need to balance this out" situation, I could register for unqueer festivals as a leader.

You're registered as a leader.
Yes.
You're wearing high heels.
Yes.
Where are your leading shoes?
I'm wearing them.
You lead in heels?
Yes.

In case anyone is wondering, using dev tools to modify the HTML so that the radio button for role option says "Both" as the value and then submitting the form _does_ result in a validation error.

So, they _are_ doing server-side validation. It isn't 1999 in there. (Given a lot of the graphic design in tango, would we really be surprised to find Y2K-style tech going on? No, we would not.)
